Groovy Gorilla Ubuntu 20.10, Now Available to Download

The latest version was released for PCs and Laptops with nine months of security and maintenance updates until July next year. 

Long term support for the latest version comes with updated packages in the Linux kernel 5.8 includes better WiFi connections, USB 4 support added, paging support for X86 5-level, improvement in graphics, and improved power savings.

The latest Ubuntu 20.10 comes with upgraded Toolchains like OpenJDK 11, Python 3.8.6, ruby 2.7.0, PHP 7.4.9, and others.

GNOME version 3.38.

The GNOME 3.38 brings excellent functionalities like fingerprint support, web tracking prevention, new updated wallpaper, parental controls and faster performance compared to the previous predecessor.

As an avid fun of Firefox browser, updated version was also included in the latest release, with Libre Office version 7.0.2 and Thunderbird 78.3.2.

I was able to test the performance and installed the latest version of Groovy Gorilla in my Virtual Machine. The user experienced feels great, smooth performance, and impressive.

You might be able to rearrange the icons in the Application grid, show the battery percentage, and supports QR code for WiFi options. 

System Requirements:

  • 2 GHz dual-core processor or better
  • 4 GB system memory
  • 25 GB of free hard drive space
  • Internet access is helpful
  • Either a DVD drive or a USB port for the installer media

To upgrade using the terminal:

$ sudo apt update && apt upgrade

To check the latest released:

$ sudo do-release-upgrade

Follow the on-screen instructions and don’t forget to restart the system for the changes to take effect.

Lastly, you will be able to customize the settings to fit your needs and system requirements.
