Discovering Kazakhstan: A Journey through Landscapes and Culture

Read Time:1 Minute, 55 Second

After weeks of waiting, we started our midyear travel in Almaty, Kazakhstan! We arrived late evening at Almaty International Airport, got a sim with high internet speed for the entire three-day journey, and drove straight away to the Golden Palace Hotel.

The planned activities started on the second day, we began to walk around the city and experienced the busy streets, local foods, transportation, and attractions nearby.

Then, we went to the Dinosaur Park to see what was inside, tried awesome street foods, and had an hour’s hike around the garden. You will find local souvenir shops everywhere with unique items to choose from simple magnetic stuff, cards, and home decorations.

After lunch, we went to the children’s section shops to buy Gavin’s Hot Wheels collection and straight ahead to Koktobe 1,100 meters above sea level with lots of recreational things to explore.

Then after, for early dinner, we went to Navat Restaurant 3 blocks from our hotel; from Koktobe we grabbed a car “using the Yandex Go mobile application” so that we would be able to find available seats as early as possible as the restaurant is full after working hours.

Good Food! Good Life!

They’ve got beautiful never-ending landscapes too!

Above the view of Lake Kaindy, located approximately 3 hours away from Almaty, an awesome natural beauty that captivates tourists with its unique underwater forest.

In Almaty, we experienced fine weather, while raining in some areas, and snowflakes on top of the mountains the same day.

We enjoyed our 3-day stay at Golden Palace Hotel, a quiet place, with fast wifi and free breakfast. The only issue that we encountered is the shower, sometimes hot and then automatically cold i mean the motor sensor or shower is not working properly. But overall it was a nice and pleasant experience at this hotel.

We went to the different places outside the city specifically to the never-ending mountains of Almaty, tried local foods, and had good times with the people we met on each day.

Note: ALL DIY, we hired only a tour guide/driver in some areas far away.
